Let’s Build a Container

Everyone has heard of Docker and containers before. Containers form the foundation of modern software systems. They have become inevitable, especially in the cloud and micro-services architecture. But what are containers and how do they work? Are they really lighter than classic VMs? In this session, we will write our own container in Go and get to know, understand, and apply the most important technologies behind containers – namespaces and cgroups.

Tobias Stadler studied computer science and now works as a programmer at petaFuel GmbH. He is interested in all aspects of software development, but especially in software architecture and quality assurance. He prefers to develop a backend system with Java EE. Furthermore, he contributes to various open-source projects.
