A Step toward Digital Sovereignty in the Cloud: Developing the AUDITOR Certification (GER)
Greater self-determination and security in the use of cloud services are goals that have been pursued for some time by projects such as GAIA-X. The implementation of the desired digital sovereignty is complex in the cloud environment. In addition to the establishment of international standards, the certification of the services offered is a core element for the creation of promising cloud ecosystems. The AUDITOR research project contributes to this by enabling EU-wide certification of cloud services based on the DSGVO. AUDITOR is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) to further establish trustworthy cloud services for business – especially for small and medium-sized enterprises – on the European single market and to ensure the best possible compliance with data protection law by promoting certifications.
