Vox Pupuli – The community behind Puppet

Puppet is the most widely used configuration management solution. The software is provided by Puppet Inc. but most of the components come from volunteers. How do you organize >110 volunteers and how is the community structured? How to effectively manage 170 git repos and regularly released software without disregarding semantic versioning? Tim (bastelfreak) Meusel is a DevOps Engineer at GoDaddy EMEA in Cologne. He is responsible for a large puppet installation, and Tim is also developing a large public cloud platform. He is one of the leaders of the Puppet Community and is responsible for over 110 Puppet modules and over 130 regular contributors. In his free time he organises BBQ events and plays ice hockey.
