Container Technology in E-Government – Between Automation and IT Security

The wave of digitization in public administration is set to gain further momentum. To this end, it is essential to keep up with the times and provide administrative services via modern e-government solutions. In the course of this, the IT service center of the Free State of Bavaria is building a container platform based on Kubernetes. The goal is to provide new/additional services to citizens quickly and easily by leveraging the power of microservices and automation. Special attention is paid to the security of all sensitive data of the citizens. This is ensured by implementing the requirements of the IT-Grundschutz Compendium of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).
